About us

The Manchester Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (MJMCE) provides a platform for European Studies-related research in Greater Manchester and the North West of England, with partners from the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and the Europe in the World Centre at the University of Liverpool.

The Centre aims to strengthen the intellectual community in European Studies, while also facilitating local, regional and international links with practitioners, researchers, students and others interested in European affairs. Initially created in 2003 with the financial support of the European Commission under its Jean Monnet Action and co-funded by the University of Manchester, the MJMCE relies on subscriptions from its principal stakeholders for its operation and is grateful for their continuing support.
